What partners and employees say

Mairec Edelmetallgesellschaft mbH

"The long-term cooperation with the Fraunhofer ARess was characterized by very professional and successful project work as well as open communication with Prof. Beck and her employees. Necessary changes of the project orientation were realized quickly and purposefully on both a content and a bureaucratic level. The joint projects therefore always went to Mairec's complete satisfaction. In addition to the research projects, this also applies to the further education programme, which was implemented in cooperation with the Technical University of Aschaffenburg and was able to clearly communicate central topics such as resource efficiency and innovation management". (Florian Sauer, Head of Research and Development)

Krall Kunststoff-Recycling GmbH

"We enjoy working with the very competent team from the Fraunhofer Application Center for Resource Efficiency. We have already successfully completed a joint BMBF project on recycling plastic-plastic composites. We are currently jointly developing a recycling method for plastic-metal composites as part of a BMWi project. Another project has been applied for at the BMBF." (Markus Krall, Managing Director)

bifa Umweltinstitut GmbH

"As a partner of the project community led by Fraunhofer ARess, we were able to participate in the research project "Development and evaluation of innovative recycling methods for the recovery of tantalum from electronic waste". We would like to thank Prof. Beck and her colleagues for their always very constructive and goal-oriented cooperation and hope to be able to continue the cooperation with Fraunhofer ARess in other areas as well". (Dipl.-Ing. Thorsten Pitschke, Project Manager bifa)

Former employees

Florian Sauer, Head of Research and Development, Mairec Edelmetallgesellschaft mbH

"Following my master's thesis at the Fraunhofer IWKS, I was given the opportunity to do my doctorate at the Fraunhofer ARess. At this point I would especially like to emphasize the close supervision by Prof. Gesa Beck. Her sociable and open nature has formed the ideal framework for the projects and work that arise. The employees were trustfully entrusted with demanding tasks and were able to coordinate projects relatively independently; their own suggestions and opinions were always taken into account. This confidence in the doctoral students' working methods is not necessarily common, but was extremely helpful in preparing them for their future careers. The projects themselves sometimes dealt with quite different topics, which made the work very varied and allowed an insight into many areas.

Of course, the tasks taken on and the close cooperation with Prof. Beck also provide well-founded specialist knowledge in a clear and concise way. Since the ARess has access to the excellent technical equipment of the Fraunhofer IWKS and the Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences, it was possible to familiarize itself with and use many analytical methods. The colleagues' interaction with each other was also always very good, and unscheduled problems were solved easily in the team.

In summary, I received excellent training at Fraunhofer ARess and was prepared for my current job in industry. As part of other research projects, I still work closely with Prof. Beck and the ARess and always remember my three years there with pleasure".

Dr. Reza Sadaat, Head of Division Interfacial Engineering Institute for Particle Technology, TU Braunschweig

"As a young scientist, I was able to do research freely and yet with professional support: all this was more than possible at the ARess under the direction of Prof. Gesa Beck. For my future, I was able to learn a lot about synthesis in the field of nanotechnology, but also about resource-efficient planning. Due to the well thought-out structure of the working group and the very good laboratory equipment, ideas could be implemented very quickly. The broad interdisciplinarity of the ARess gave me a better picture in the large field of resource efficiency. Looking back, I can say that it was a pleasure for me to have been part of the ARess".

Maja Jelic, Promotion, Universität Augsburg

"From 2015 - 2017 I was part of the ARess Group. My experiences in this regard are consistently positive. A very competent, always helpful and friendly working group. The guidance and support by Prof. Gesa Beck was excellent".

Martin Hillenbrand, Master student, Industrial engineering, Universität Augsburg

"The work at ARess was the perfect entry into the professional world after my bachelor's degree. By working for Prof. Dr. Beck, I was able to apply my theoretical knowledge in the Master's program through practical experience in research and development."

Nina Tritschler, Trainee, Remondis Assets & Services GmbH & Co. KG

"During the preparation of my master thesis at ARess, I was able to actively participate in a current research project and apply my theoretical knowledge from my studies in practice. I particularly enjoyed working in an interdisciplinary team and the positive working atmosphere. The close and professional support of Prof. Dr. Beck is to be emphasized in this context".
